My best friend in the whole world called me today to ask how my high risk appointment was. I updated her on the latest and she had to go because she had some work to do (she was at work). I hung up the phone and started thinking of how things were in high school. We were both on the cheer leading squad together (she made me get my butt in gear).
Rachel was my matron of honor at my wedding. She and her husband drove from Oklahoma and stayed the weekend JUST for my wedding! Talk about friendship. I couldn’t ask for a more loyal and loving friend then her. She’s been with me through some pretty thick stuff in my life.
My friend Rebecca and I roomed together for the majority of my high school career (if you could call it that). She and I became really close too. Seriously like sisters. She now lives in California and I in Virginia. Sisters on opposite sides of the country…how sad. I remember the last time I saw her. She was half asleep on the bus heading to Tulsa to drop students off. I got off at my stop to meet my sister (step sister Dawnyale), and that’s the last time I saw Becca.
I really don’t know where I’d be…or who for that matter if it weren’t for the friends I’ve managed to keep since high school. I have a handful of the best friends a girl could ever have and I couldn’t be more blessed in that respect.
